Harbour Flowers

The other day I was down in the inner harbour and needed to eat and sit down. It was a weekend so we went to the milestones overlooking the inner harbour. I tried a grill veggie rap or something. It was.. ok. I am unsure if I would order it again. I am more likely to try something ells next time I go there. Though I find that I have not wanted to go to many milestones since they changed their decor, I just don't feel it anymore. I came outside and enjoyed a bench by some flowers while I waited for my friend to finish fixing her scarf. The weather was so nice and the flowers where so beautiful and colourful. Though as you can see in the picture below that someone has come along and cut the tops off some. So silly. I took a few pics, then she came out and we left. It was a nice day.

At Starbucks

Last night I was at Starbucks with some friends after we ran out of things to do like normal. There is not much to do where I am past 6oclock most nights. That's when most shops close. Unless it is the summer on set days, then we get things till 9pm. Some shops even close at 5pm. So staying entertained can be a challenge at times if you don't want to just watch a movie, walk around Walmart, or a 24 hour grocery store. Most options for tea or coffee after 9pm gets a bit limited also. There are two places down in cook street village that are open to a shocking 11pm, gadzooks! Most people end up at Tim Hortons and now McDonald's as they have that new Mc cafe or whatever. The only problem with the Mcdonald's is that you end up sitting in there drinking coffee. I dono about you, but I rather be in Timmys where I don't have to hear the sounds of the machines that sound like heart monitors going off. I am not sure yet if that is a sick coincidence in McDonalds or not. Maybe they are trying to get their costumers used to the sounds of impending hart failure, so that when it comes, they will not panic? So anyways, Starbuks, it's not so bad....... they make good overpriced drinks. I have never tried their coffee so I can't comment on that, but their green tea frapachino with soy milk is good. Also they make a good mint tea, really how can they mess up hot water :).

Umi Sushi Express at Mayfair

I have food on my brain right now. All I want to do is eat. The hunger I feel is like a day of fasting then falling asleep right before sunset and waking up way past midnight, so hungry that crawling to the kitchen seems like the end of the world. Only to get there and shove the first things you can into your mouth no matter how crapy they taste. I am 5 min away from walking into the kitchen and shoving anything within arms reach into my mouth. Buuuuut here is a food review, I am torturing myself now. This seemed like a good idea. A friend and I stopped by the mall on her way to work just to grab a bite to eat as it is one of the only places with free parking. We chose this Japanese place that both of us had never tried. That's it I'm getting Food! Oh my god, tofu is goooooood. Back to the food at Uni Sushi Express. At first all we saw was the Sushi and Bubble tea info, then I spoted it, the Veggie Bento Box! Oh ya, this looked good. Grilled veggies (cabbage being the main one) on rice with a yummy souse. A small green salad with a vinegar dressing, this is amazing for people with dairy allergies. Three peace's of tempura, A huge peace of broccoli, a peace of cauliflower, and I forget the other, I think yam. Yes it was, as we talked about potatoes then. To top it off it came with 8 peace's, not the lousy 6 most places give, of sushi. They give you a choice between Yam and Avocado. Go for the Avocado! They really do not skimp on the avocado portion of the sushi like so many places do. The sushi is freshly made. If you get a bento, you can get a miso soup for only 50¢. Totally worth it, but I was so full I had to save it. It tastes like a run of the mill miso. Tofu, and seaweed are in it like all the others. We topped it all off with drinks from Booster Juice that we had from before the mall. If not we would have gone with Bubble tea, though no clue how it tastes from their. Another trip is needed. This came out to about $10.50 or so. I think a fair price for amazing veggie and non dairy food at a mall. If you are ever at Mayfair mall, it is the best thing in their food court, besides subway, Tim Hortons and Opa (awesome Greek salad). Opa why are you not halal :(.... and dairy freeeeeeee.

The Corn Pops Murder

I have started eating cereal again, this is dew to a few things. The top most reason is laziness in the morning, and adding a banana and coconut or almond milk is my way of rationalizing that it is healthy. I am off of Fiber One for the time being after a vary ill advised day. Just a warning to you all, don't eat 4 bolls in one day, no matter how good it tastes. I will leave your imaginations with whatever images of horror you are able to conjure from my warning. The other week we got a box of Corn Pops. Now this is a treat. Its almost as good as cereals with marshmallows, that I can't eat anymore. Darn Gelatine. It was not till I was poring my first boll did I look at the back and say "What the F**K is that?!". Now I know my words are a bit extreme, but this is on a children's cereal box, and I sure as heck do not remember things being so demented as a child. It is not so much the killing of Cinnamon that is the problem, but the horrified expression left on Corn Pops face that got me. And right after it says " Try new Cinnamon Pops". Yes I really want to try something after seeing what can only be described at the Corn Pops equivalent of the Pulp Fiction car shooting. Though with a Robot chicken facial expression. A WTF moment for sure. The next day my brother walked in holding the box, and asking if I had seen it. He was equally as stunned by it. Maybe we are both just getting old, but I like my demented humour to be left at night of adult swim where it belongs.

Fishing Derby

While back I went to a fishing derby with a friend. We got there just as things where coming to a close and prizes would be anouced. There is not much to do at one if your on the land and are not fishing. It was interesting to see how things have changed with fishing. Everyone is using these fake baits, that's how I see them. Its not like how I remember it growing up. Get some worms from the guy who lives by the lake. He normally had a fridge out back that the worms where kept in, and an honour system tin that you put the money into. Sadly its not really like that. The lakes and streams did not have to be stocked (fish grown and added to them to keep up with the demand). If you went salt water fishing all that was needed was a cut up fish or something. Things really have changed, or maybe I just did things old school even then.

If Cats Had Facebook

The "I'm looking away cuz I'm to cool for this".

Every now and then I get a bunch of time on my hands, and this results in an increase of  posts on blogger, and going back to facebook to see what's new. Nothing is ever new. The only thing I like about Facebook is that it lets me keep in touch with people who are living far away. It also makes me come up with silly ideas, like, what if my cat got facebook? I think it would go something like this.

The "Cat Duckface" or "above shot".

The "I'm hot and I know it".

The "I'm so cute and not trying".

The "Looking past the camera all stoic look".

The "Your dame right I'm looking at you".
I would like to thank my Kitty, who I will call Miss T. for putting up with me and my photo antics.

Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty...

If any of you have ever watched The Big Bang Theory then you might recognize what has been written on this T. If not, you should go watch it :). This T was spotted in one of the many Vancouver downtown T-shirt stores catering to funny and unique shirts. I can't remember the shop now. It's been awhile. Next time I'm back I will go looking for it again. Soft kitty, Warm kitty, Little ball of fur, Happy kitty, Sleepy kitty, Purr, Purr, Purr.
